Iphone app won't use wifi network to sync - only 3G

When I try to sync with iPhone connected to home wifi network RTM just sits there and spins. Syncing while connected to 3G network is almost instatntaneous (but may end up being expensive in terms of data usage and dollars). I'm not sure if this is a RTM app issue of an issue with the iPhone itself but it appears to be a problwm that only happens from inside RTM iPhone App. Any ideas, anyone?
